About Dr. Parsons

I am a licensed psychologist based in the Salt Lake City area. Since 1995, I have provided a number of specialized mental health services to patients overcoming distressing life experiences and mental health difficulties.  Your health and well-being is my priority, and I go above and beyond to provide my patients with effective counseling and psychological services individualized to their needs.

Therapy is a healing process that necessitates active participation and investment from the patient and therapist alike. While some may find relief rather quickly, for others it may be a longer process to address long-standing issues.  Ultimately, making changes in self-defeating and painful thoughts, feelings and behavior can bring life-altering results. I utilize the latest scientific research to inform my treatment and personalize services to meet individual needs.  My therapies are built on a foundation of trust, respect, and congruence where patients experience empathy, warmth and genuine positive regard.

What To Expect At Your Visit

Perhaps you're down or anxious, maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In your initial evaluation session we will work together to define your problems and uncover past issues that may be causing, exacerbating or maintaining your current difficulties.  Together we will develop a treatment plan to guide our sessions and keep us on track while we work toward your ultimate goals.  In therapy sessions I use a variety of collaborative and evidenced-based treatments to promote behavioral, cognitive and emotional change.  Together we will work towards a more full, rich and meaningful life. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, a difficult relationship, or adjusting to life changes - I have the tools and professional experience to help you feel better.
